Before you begin your application, here are a few details to keep in mind:
- Price: $55 (~€50)
- Estimated time: Approximately 15 minutes
- Documents required: Valid passport and credit card
- Time to obtain: Between a few hours and several days, depending on how busy you are.
- Validity: 1 month
- Number of entries: Only one (Single Entry Visa)
- Possibility of extension: Yes, up to 6 months on site (for an additional fee)
🗂 How do I apply for a visa?
📖 1. Go to the official website
Go to the official Sri Lankan immigration website: https: //eta.gov.lk/etaslvisa
Beware of fraudulent sites that offer to apply for you at exorbitant rates! The official site is the only reliable one recognized by the Sri Lankan government.
🔒 2. Accept the conditions
Click on “Agree” to accept the terms and conditions of the service.
🌍 3. Choose the right type of visa
Select “Apply for Individual”.
If you are traveling with a family or group, each person must apply individually.
👤 4. Fill in personal information
Fill in the following fields accurately, scrupulously respecting the information shown on your passport:
- Last name
- First name(s)
- Title (Miss, Mr, Mrs)
- Date of birth
- Gender (Male/Female)
- Nationality (French)
- Country of birth
- Occupation (optional, can be left blank)
- Passport number
- Date of issue and expiry of passport
👍 Good to know: If you are traveling with a child registered on your passport, complete the “Child Information” section.
🌟 5. Fill in travel information
- Expected date of arrival
- Reason for trip: “Sightseeing or Holidaying” (Tourist trip)
Other information, such as port of departure and airline, is not mandatory.

- Address in France (Your current address of residence)
- City and region
- E-mail(You will receive your visa at this address, please check!)
- Address of your first accommodation in Sri Lanka
- Telephone number (+33 followed by the number without the 0)
✅ 7. Validate declaration
Tick “No” to all three questions concerning residence and multiple visas.
Enter the verification code (captcha), check “I would like to confirm the above information is correct”, then validate!
💳 8. Payment
Pay for your visa with your credit card. Once payment has been made, a confirmation e-mail will be sent.
⏳ Receipt of visa
